Why We Give

Facing our own challenges in life has inspired us to target resources toward initiatives that improve the lives of others and support our communities. We’ve seen how the power of education, science and community can inspire and lead to better quality of life. We strive to light the way by investing in the people and organizations that look to the future and make change happen.

Finding Solutions

for inherited retinal diseases

The Nixon Visions Foundation has a personal interest in raising awareness and finding treatments and cures for rare inherited retinal diseases that cause vision loss and blindness. Our giving supports outreach, advocacy and research in the scientific and patient communities. We strive to understand and develop treatments and cures for rare retinal diseases such as those caused by mutations of the PRPH2 gene, a condition that has led to vision loss in our family.

Supporting a brighter future for young people

We know the many challenges young adults face, especially in households where they are a single parent or the child of a single parent. Sometimes it just takes extra support to set a young person on their path to reaching their potential. We created the Nixon Visions Foundation scholarships to support education and training for young people and adults.
